To all Bowdon members

Rugby: As we come towards the end of the season it looks very much like we’ll end up towards the top of the league, but not in the promotion or play-off spot. We’ve had some great performances this season, including the 3 RFU cup games we played. With improved consistency we’d be knocking on the door of promotion. We have the squad to do it. So we aim to end the season with a flourish and plan for better next season.
A number of M&J age groups have progressed well in the Cheshire Cups, with semi-finals ahead. As in previous years we’re hoping to get some silverware.

Bowdon RUFC Male Voice Choir.
The Choir has started and rehearses on Monday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. It’s aimed at Players, former players, M+J members and friends. No audition or previous musical experience required.
Come and try it – it’s fun!
Please send an e-mail to Steve Haslam at steveaitch@me.com if you’re interested.

Some dates for your diary.
- 140th Anniversary Closing Vice Presidents Lunch - Saturday 21st April - In the Marquee Room
from 12:30 prior to the West Park game.
The newly formed Choir will be performing. We’d like as many people as possible to attend. Please contact Nicola Graham on nicola.graham2@sky.com to book your place.
- Bowdon Quiz – Friday 4th May at 7pm in the Marquee room. Lots of fun. Get a team together and come down.
- 2018 AGM – will be held at the club on Wednesday 13th June 2018 at 7:30pm.

Development: Plans continue to progress with the focus being the Car Park at the moment. Fundraising is very important as this will determine what we can do.

Fundraising: Are you a member of the Moles club? To sign up use the link on the Bowdon website. This will raise money for the development projects of the club. Events such as the Ball, VP lunches, Dinners etc also raise money – so please support these too.

Sponsorship: If you’re interested in sponsoring the club in any way please contact Lindsey Wordley (lindseywordley@me.com) or Nick Buckley (buckley@exchangechambers.co.uk)

Past President – Kevin Fallon.
As some of you will know Kevin fell very ill in early January, being admitted to hospital for over 2 months. He’s recovery has made good progress but he still has a way to go. He’s now back at home and would welcome visits from friends, but please call in advance so he can put the kettle on!

A scam!
As anyone who has been down the club since last Friday will know – we’ve had some tar and stone laid near the entrance. It looks good, but won’t last. This was a scam by a road surface contractor getting rid of some waste materials. The contractor had some inside information and managed to persuade the staff they were on authorised business. This has exposed our loose working arrangements.
Going forward if anyone has authorised suppliers, companies or people to do work, drop off materials, etc at the club, they must inform the staff in advance, who will note it in the diary. If anyone comes that the staff are not expecting then they will not be permitted to do what they had planned.
