The Kersal forwards acquitted themselves well, and were competitive, but their backs were no match for Bowdon's, who surprised nobody in demonstrating their ability to run in tries from their own half against weaker midfields. Whether doing so helps them or their teammates to develop their all round games, such that we can match stronger opposition, is presumably a debate for another day. Well done to try scorers Harry Martin, Ben Royle, Harry Briscoe, Will Nicholson, and Robbie Agnew. Apologies if I've missed anyone else.
Finally, best wishes for speedy recoveries to Louis Littler, Joseph Jackson, and Joe Breen.
Sunday night update: Message from Rik Littler:-
Hi Mark,
Just to let you know for the match report. Lewis broke his wrist and arm. He underwent a general anaesthetic operation tonight which was successful. No pins or wires needed. He now has a cast on for the next 5 weeks and no contact sport for the next 2 and half months. He is frustrated about that but expect to see him cheering on the boys from the sideline this year. Cheers. Rik
